Jacksonville FL — Wednesday, the U.S. House voted to impeach President Trump for a second time and the vote breakdown among Northeast Florida Representatives was down party lines with all Three Republicans voted against impeachment and the one Democrat voting for it.
Congressman John Rutherford who voted against impeachment said, in a statement, that a vote to impeach the president without proper due process with only seven days left in office only further divides us.

Congressman Michael Waltz also voted against impeachment and says that impeachment only further divides us and what the country needs now is more unity not more fuel on the fire.
Furthermore, House Dems brought impeachment to the House floor with ZERO due process, no hearings, no trial & no legal defense.

Impeachment should never be rushed nor taken lightly.
The violence we saw at the Capitol was despicable and unAmerican — and it's critical we launch a full investigation into the events on and leading up to January 6th.

The 9/11 commission is good model.
Congresswoman Kat Cammack also voted against impeachment.
Congressman Al Lawson, who is the only Democratic House member from Northeast Florida, voted for impeachment. He told WOKV last week that he was in favor of another impeachment. Lawson said the reason he believed President Trump needed to be impeached again was that he was no longer the president of the American people.
After the vote Wednesday, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said there is no chance that the Senate would be able to hold a “fair or serious” trial on the impeachment before President-elect Joe Biden is sworn in on January 20th.
