Starke, Fla. — A man wanted for his crimes in St. Johns County was captured in Bradford County Wednesday following a string of burglaries, according to the Starke Police Department (SPD).
SPD says several people reported crimes in the north end of the city on the morning of June 9 and quickly identified Tyler Anthony Hillegas, 29, as the suspect.
Deputies successfully located the man several hours later after a citizen spotted Hillegas and called police.
According to a post by the SPD, the suspect had to be tased after he tried to run from detectives.
Hillegas was transported to a nearby hospital and later medically cleared before being booked into the Bradford County Jail on both the warrants and new charges. His bond is set at $79,000.
