Tracking Eta: List of closures, cancellations

Jacksonville, Fl — As Eta approaches NE Florida from the western Gulf coast, WOKV is updating a list of school, event and major business closing and cancellations.

Duval County

-The University of North Florida Physical Facilities team is preparing the campus by clearing storm drains that will help alleviate standing water. If there is a change that would impact university operations, alerts will be provided.

-Duval County Public Schools will be holding classes virtually on Duval HomeRoom on Thursday, November 12, due to Eta. Superintendent Dr. Diana Greene says elementary schools will run from 10 AM-3PM, while secondary classes will be at normal times. There will be no after-school activities on Thursday either. Friday, however, is expected to be a normal school day.

-The state-run COVID-19 testing site at the Regency Square Mall will be closed on November 12th.

St. Johns County

-The St. Johns County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller and all 7th Judicial Circuit Court operations have been suspended November 12, 2020, due to potential inclement weather impacts from Tropical Storm Eta. Please contact the Clerk’s office for information regarding rescheduled court cases and appointments.

- St. Johns County Schools will be open tomorrow, but after-school activities have been canceled.

Clay County

-Clay County Schools will be closed on November 12th and all after-school activities have been canceled as well. The school district says hurricane days are built into their revised calendar, so no adjustments will be made to the student calendar.

Nassau County

-All County Court Jury Trials for Thursday, November 12th, are cancelled, per Nassau Emergency Management. Jurors will be contacted by the court for reschedule.

-Nassau County Schools is not reporting any closures or cancellations.
