The silver Porsche 911 will be part of a Bonhams auction in Paris that begins Wednesday and runs through March 10, CNN reported.

The vehicle was delivered to Maradona in November 1992 while he was playing for Sevilla during his final season in Europe, CNN reported.

“It was delivered new to ‘El Diego,’ Diego Armando Maradona, and because of this provenance this car probably could be worth double or three times the value of a standard car,” Gregory Tuytens, car specialist at auction house Bonhams, told Reuters at a storage facility in Belgium.

Maradona, 60, died in November 2020 after a heart attack, several weeks after being released from a Buenos Aires hospital after undergoing brain surgery.

Tuytens said the estimate for the vehicle is $240,800.

“It will definitely appeal not only to car collectors but also football fans and just people who loved the person, the football god Maradona in general,” Tuytens told Reuters.

Maradona was a controversial figure on and off the pitch. He led his native Argentina to a World Cup title in 1996, and sparked Napoli to its first league title in 1987 and the UEFA Cup two years later, CNN reported.

Away from the game, Maradona battled alcoholism, addiction, and was banned for 15 months after failing a drug test in 1991, the news network reported.
