If someone told you they booked a hotel βin the middle of nowhere,β youβd probably picture a roadside motel with questionable vibes π£οΈπ¬ β not something that costs more than a mansion. But this? This is a whole different level of nowhere.
A Silicon Valley startup called GRU Space is officially taking reservations for a future hotel on the Moon ππ¨ β and yes, people are already lining up.
πΈ The price? Stays are expected to cost anywhere from $250,000 to $1 MILLION per guest β and thatβs just for the room. Getting there will likely cost over $10 million more ππ°.
GRU Space says they plan to build a permanent lunar outpost by 2032, with early construction starting as soon as 2029. Ambitious? Definitely. But that hasnβt stopped them from accepting deposits π
ποΈ Whatβs the hotel like? Donβt expect five-star luxury. The accommodations will be more like space camping, featuring inflatable structures that can host up to four guests at a time for multi-day stays.
π Amenities include:
β’ Moonwalks π
β’ Driving on the lunar surface π
β’ Even golfing on the Moon β³
(No word yet on color TVs or room service.)
Eventually, the company hopes to expand using lunar materials to build stronger, longer-lasting structures that can host more guests π§±β¨
π Before you pack your bags:
β’ Thereβs a $1,000 non-refundable application fee
β’ A background check is required
β’ Travel costs are not included
β’ And letβs be realβ¦ theyβll probably charge for the water bottles π§πΈ
So if youβve got astronaut dreams and billionaire money, your next vacation might literally be out of this world πβ‘οΈπ
Would you stay at a hotel on the Moon β or is Earth good enough for you? π π
