Croc Block! Schools Are Banning The Popular Shoes

Crocs are next on the education system’s hit list

Dozens of schools in at least 20 states across the U.S. have banned students from wearing Crocs to class. School administrators claim students are more likely to struggle to walk when wearing the shoes. One school principal called the shoes “a safety hazard. Man, they can twist the knees, twist the ankles, things like that.” Some schools say the shoes are a distraction as students play with the collectible charms or throw their shoes at classmates.

We’ve all heard this story before. Whether it be taking away silly bands, Pokémon cards, or fidget spinners, school administrators have been trying to control the individuality of children since the dawn of time. Now they’ve come for the Crocs? Unbelievable. I can understand taking away stuff that’s distracting during class, but you’d have to be pretty bored already to be looking at everyone’s shoes in the class.

They can take the fidget toys, they can take the crocs, and they can even take the Pokémon away. One thing they can never take, however, is the spirit of the youth.
