Gen Z, millennials saying goodbye to dating apps

As the dating market becomes more and more complicated for many, Gen Z and Millennials are making it much simpler for their generations; ditching the ever confusing and trivial dating apps, for more conventional and, surprisingly, IN PERSON dating.

“A new report from event management site Eventbrite found a rise in speed dating and singles events in the last year, with over 1.5 million searches for such events on the platform.

The report found attendance to singles and dating events increased 42% from 2022 to 2023.”

“Singles “want more in-person opportunities to connect and bond over mutual passions, be it paddle board yoga, kombucha brewing, backyard beekeeping, or freehand glassblowing.”

The shift in the dating scene comes as many young daters are experiencing “swipe fatigue” from popular dating apps.”

The online dating field can be tumultuous, in the most generous of terms, and with this shift from modern, to more traditional dating practices, there is growing belief that Gen Z and following generations are finally escaping the death grip of scrolling that modern dating sites had on young singles throughout the past decade, especially during the Covid years of 2020-2023.
