💔 It’s Red Tuesday — The Day You’re Most Likely to Get Dumped 😬

If your relationship has been feeling a little shaky lately, you might want to tread lightly today… or maybe just throw your phone on Do Not Disturb 📵.

Today is officially Red Tuesday, which has earned a reputation as the day of the year you’re most likely to get DUMPED 💔. Yep — it always falls on the Tuesday before Valentine’s Day, and the timing is not a coincidence.

The idea is pretty simple (and kind of brutal): this is the moment when people realize they haven’t made Valentine’s plans yet 💐🍫… and don’t want to spend the money, fake the romance, or drag things out another week.

The term “Red Tuesday” started trending back in 2015 after dating site Illicit Encounters noticed a spike in breakups right before Valentine’s Day. One survey even found that around one in four people admit they’ve broken up with someone during the week leading up to February 14th 😳.

And according to a matchmaker who spoke with Star magazine, it’s especially rough for newer relationships. She says Red Tuesday hits hardest for couples who are about three to six months in — basically that awkward stage where things are serious enough to require a gift, but not serious enough to feel worth it 😬.

Her blunt explanation? Some people just “don’t want to buy the gift or fake the romance.” Ouch.

So if you survive today, congratulations 🎉❤️. And if not… hey, at least you saved money on chocolates and reservations 😅🍷.
