Weβre just days away from Halloween β and if youβre stocking up on candy, hereβs your annual reminder: donβt be that house. π
According to a new report, the two candies that have fallen the most in popularity this year are... π₯ licorice and candy corn. Yup. Those ones. π€’
Consumer interest in licorice is down 13.6%, and candy corn dropped 9.1%. (Which makes sense β itβs 2025, whoβs still eating wax triangles pretending to be candy? π)
And apparently, even the nostalgia isnβt saving them. Some folks joked that licoriceβs popularity now depends entirely on how many great-grandparents still have the teeth for it. π¦·π¬
Other candies losing steam include:π Caramel apples (down 7%)βοΈ Marshmallow candy (down 9%)
BUT β thereβs good news for your sweet tooth:π» Haribo gummies are up 48%π« Baby Ruth bars are making a comeback β up 42%!π Hersheyβs Kisses jumped 37%
Oh, and apparently matcha cookies are blowing up too β up 139%! (Who knew that was a thing?!) π΅
So yeah, this Halloweenβ¦ skip the candy corn. Go for the Reeseβs, the Kit Kats, or literally anything people actually want. ππ«
