Weโve officially reached a point where people are taking to the streets to protest... insurance company mascots. ๐
A group of people recently gathered outside Liberty Mutualโs headquarters in Boston to demand that the company get rid of Liberty Biberty, the fluffy yellow mascot thatโs become a pretty divisive figure online.
Yes. Weโre talking about the little yellow bird. ๐ฅ
The protest was organized by a 19-year-old named Connor Harvey, who livestreamed the demonstration on YouTube and promised to keep things peaceful. He even compared the gathering to one of the most famous protests in American history, saying, โThis is a revolution, this is the next Boston Tea Party.โ
And apparently, he wasnโt alone. Dozens of people showed up to make their feelings about Liberty Biberty known.
Connorโs mom even defended the demonstration, calling it an opportunity for young people to get involved in โlow-stakesโ civic engagement.
But not everyone was there to get rid of the mascot.
One lone counter-protester showed up dressed AS Liberty Biberty, holding signs in support of the fluffy yellow bird. Naturally, the crowd wasnโt exactly thrilled with his appearance, and he was met with jeers.
Imagine putting on a giant yellow bird costume just to defend an insurance mascot from an angry mob. Thatโs commitment. ๐
So, what do YOU think? Is Liberty Biberty an adorable advertising genius, or does this bird need to be grounded? ๐ฅ๐
