Happy 904 Day, Jacksonville! 🎉 The Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens is celebrating with $9.04 admission all weekend through Monday, September 7. The deal is available online only, with no promo code needed — the discount is automatically applied at checkout.
The celebration continues Saturday with Super Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., featuring superheroes, princesses and mermaids throughout the zoo. Families can also take part in a scavenger hunt to unlock animal facts, with a chance to win a free ticket to the zoo’s upcoming Spooktacular event.
Fans of Nashville-style hot chicken also have a new restaurant to look forward to. Dave’s Hot Chicken is coming to St. Augustine, taking over the site of the former Wendy’s on U.S. 1. It will be the chain’s third Northeast Florida location, joining its restaurants at St. Johns Town Center and River City Marketplace. There’s no opening date yet, but St. Augustine will soon have another spot for spicy chicken, sliders, fries and Dave’s signature sauces.
And Jaguars fans just got another look at the Stadium of the Future. About two years into construction, the team released new renderings showing planned bars, clubs and outdoor spaces ahead of the stadium’s expected opening as early as August 2028.
The design includes a roof covering while keeping the sides open-air, along with wider breezeways, larger open areas and a massive outdoor screen. Inside, fans can expect features like field-level bars with couches, while some club areas may include TVs at the seats.
All of this is just another reminder that there’s always something new happening right here in the 904!
