Apparently, a lot of people love the idea of it... but canβt pull it off. A new survey found that three out of four Americans donβt feel confident making the perfect grilled cheese sandwich.
Still, 61% of people say itβs their favorite sandwich ever, which means that a lot of us are going to have to find a chef with enough skills to make it. π
Hereβs what the survey found about grilled cheese preferences:
π 71% say buttering the bread gives the best crisp.
π 12% swear by using mayo instead of butter.
π 68% say the perfect sandwich uses more than one cheese, with cheddar being the top pick. π§π§
π 43% prefer white bread, while others love sourdough, multigrain, or even brioche for that fancy touch.
No secret chef tricks were revealed in the survey, but the general rule seems to be: Good bread + melty cheese + patience = grilled cheese greatness. π₯
