You can get away with a lot in your 20s. Stay up all night? Sure. Live off energy drinks and tacos? Why not. But science says the party has a hard stop — and it’s sooner than you think.
A new study just pinpointed the age when bad habits like smoking, drinking, and skipping the gym finally start to trigger real health problems. The magic number? 36.
Researchers tracked hundreds of people born in 1959 and followed their health until they were 61 years old.The results were pretty clear:
- People who spent their younger years smoking, drinking, and being couch potatoes?
- They started seeing major health issues and depression kick in around age 36.
One scientist put it this way:
“Our findings highlight the importance of tackling risky health behaviors as early as possible to prevent damage from building up over the years.”
Translation: The daily donuts for breakfast lifestyle has an expiration date — and it’s coming fast.
Or… you could look at it another way: Go ahead and enjoy the late nights and bad decisions through your 20s and early 30s...Just be ready to swap your shot glass for a gym membership on your 36th birthday. 🎂💪
