We’re just days away from Halloween — and if you’re stocking up on candy, here’s your annual reminder: don’t be that house. 😅
According to a new report, the two candies that have fallen the most in popularity this year are... 🥁 licorice and candy corn. Yup. Those ones. 🤢
Consumer interest in licorice is down 13.6%, and candy corn dropped 9.1%. (Which makes sense — it’s 2025, who’s still eating wax triangles pretending to be candy? 😂)
And apparently, even the nostalgia isn’t saving them. Some folks joked that licorice’s popularity now depends entirely on how many great-grandparents still have the teeth for it. 🦷🍬
Other candies losing steam include:🍏 Caramel apples (down 7%)☁️ Marshmallow candy (down 9%)
BUT — there’s good news for your sweet tooth:🐻 Haribo gummies are up 48%🍫 Baby Ruth bars are making a comeback — up 42%!💋 Hershey’s Kisses jumped 37%
Oh, and apparently matcha cookies are blowing up too — up 139%! (Who knew that was a thing?!) 🍵
So yeah, this Halloween… skip the candy corn. Go for the Reese’s, the Kit Kats, or literally anything people actually want. 😏🍫
