hard Launching, soft launching, the common terms used by Instagram users to announce who they’re dating, or that they’re dating in general. But a new trend has quickly taken over Instagram, called “no launching” and here’s how it works:
Hard Launching - The act of showing your followers, or displaying to your social media feed EXACTLY who you are dating, via a face reveal, or a regular Instagram post/reel (this type of launch shows that you are in a relationship, and who you are in a relationship with)
Soft Launching - Showing your followers, or displaying to your social media feed that you are dating someone, or in a relationship with someone without showing who that person is, this may be done with showing the holding of hands, a date night, a pose that doesn’t show your partner’s face.
No Launching - Not showing any indication that you are dating, or in a relationship with someone, regardless of whether you are or are not.
“Celebrities have been doing it for years — with paparazzi sightings and red carpet attendances being the only way to confirm their relationship status. Opting for a no-launch often causes other people to assume the person withholding their partner is cheating or acting with ill intentions, says Kelleher, who adds, that isn’t the main reason couples do it. Pressure from family to get married, disapproval from loved ones, and public scrutiny are a few reasons someone might decide to keep their relationship offline.”
So next time you get into a relationship, decide for yourself, hard launch, soft launch, or no launch?
