Clay County warns of curbside collection delays

Jacksonville, FL — Clay County is warning families they may see curbside collection delays of yard waste, garbage, and recycling.

According to the county, yard waste collection is currently running several days behind schedule due to unexpected staffing shortages at Waste Management, as well as large volumes of yard waste being placed at the curb as families are doing spring yard work.

The county says this is, in some cases, spilling into collection of garbage and recycling.

If your garbage or recycling is not collected within two days of your scheduled time, the county wants you to report the missed collection using their customer service portal at https://myservices.claycountygov.com/.

The county’s Environmental Services Department is said to be working with Waste Management on a solution with more information to come soon.

Clay County says these Waste Management staffing shortages are also impacting neighboring St. Johns, Duval, and Nassau counties.
