Driver dies in Mandarin crash early Monday

Jacksonville, Fl — A morning crash in Mandarin leaves a man dead at a busy intersection.

Jacksonville police responded around 1:30 this morning Loretto and San Jose Boulevard where they found a pickup truck hat hit a tree.

The driver was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

JSO is investigating whether the death was a result of the crash or a medical episode. As of 6:00 am lanes of Loretto Road reopened.
