JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office reported that it arrested a man after he robbed a Dollar General Monday morning on New Kings Road.
According to witnesses, the man entered the Dollar General around 8 a.m. with a knife and gun demanding money. The suspect made off with $60, a bottle of Mountain Dew and a pack of Oreos before fleeing on a bike.
Detectives said that an off-duty officer saw a man that matched the suspect’s description. He chased the man into the woods and called for backup. The K-9 Unit was dispatched and quickly found the suspect, who was subsequently apprehended by officers.
The gun and knife were found on the suspect, but the $60 are still missing.
No one was hurt, and the suspect remains in custody.
