Using his treatment to remember, Jacksonville kid beats cancer

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Everyone’s journey starts somewhere... for Keyden Hall it started four years ago on July 19th.

Keyden’s nana said one day he wasn’t feeling well feeling, so his mom took him to the emergency room, and “the rest is history.”

At the age of 12, Keyden was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia, but it’s all looking up now. Keyden is in remission and ready for high school this year.

His nana said since the beginning, staff at Nemours treated them like family. They helped raise Keyden’s math grade and supported them financially when they needed it the most.

“His mom couldn’t go to work because she had to there with him. And Christian is the one that came and told her listen you don’t need to be under this stress cause Keyden is already stressed.” Keyden’s nana said staff members helped them with paperwork and walked them through everything.

Keyden finished his last treatment and found his own way to remember it by keeping the port used for infusion close. Staff members put it in a box for him, his nana said now it’s their own souvenir.

Grateful for the Child Cancer Fund, his nana hopes donations will help more families, like them, get the support they need.
