If youβre a true crime fan, youβve probably heard this phrase before: βThe first 48 hours are critical.β Well . . . turns out that applies to your paycheck too. Because apparently, thatβs how long it takes most of us to spend HALF of it. π©π°
According to a new report, the average American blows through 48% of their paycheck within the first 48 hours of getting paid.
Even worse β 35% of it is gone within the first 12 hours! π³
Thatβs especially true for Millennials, who spend money faster than any other generation. (And no, theyβre not all splurging on concert tickets and Pumpkin Spice Lattes.) βποΈ
Most of that cash goes toward essentials:π Groceries and household necessitiesπ³ Rent, credit cards, or big bills due soonπ‘ Utilities and subscriptions
The problem? A lot of people are paid bi-weekly, while bills and expenses hit nonstop all month long. π
π¬ 62% of people say being paid daily or as they work would make a big difference in reducing financial stress.
So yeah β βThe First 48β isnβt just a TV show anymore . . . now itβs about your bank account. π πΈ
