Weβve all been thereβ¦ you made an email in middle school or high school and thought it was FIRE π₯
Fast forward to todayβand now youβre sending job emails from something like BeerMeBro2002@gmail.com or HumansSuckCatsRock@gmail.com π¬
Well, good news: Google is finally coming to save your reputation.
π§ Whatβs changing?
Gmail is rolling out a feature that lets you change your email address without losing all your old emails, contacts, and history π
Even betterβyouβll still keep your old email as an alternate, so anything sent there wonβt disappear.
π Why this is a big deal
Before this, if you wanted a more βadultβ email, you had to:
- Make a whole new account
- Transfer everything manually π©
- Hope you didnβt lose anything important
Now? You can just upgrade your username and move on with your life like nothing happened π
βοΈ How to change it
If your account is eligible, hereβs how to do it:
- Go to your email settings
- Click Personal Info
- Tap Email
- Select Google Account email
- Hit Change Google Account email
Boom. New you. Same inbox π
β οΈ One catch
Choose wiselyβ¦ because you can only change your email once every 12 months β³
So maybe skip PartyLegend420 this time around π
π§ Final thought
This feature has been in testing for a while, but as of now, itβs rolling out to everyone starting today.
So yeahβ¦ it might finally be time to retire that embarrassing email and step into your professional era πΌβ¨
