🍔 A Grown Man Got Mad Because He Didn’t Know What a “Plain” Burger Means 🤦‍♂️

There are moments when you think HUMANITY gets a bum rap. This is NOT one of those moments. 😂

A Five Guys employee says a grown man recently flipped out because he ordered a “plain” cheeseburger… and was apparently shocked when the burger had nothing on it.

At Five Guys, you can customize your burger with basically whatever you want. 🌭🍔🥒 So when the customer ordered a cheeseburger, the employee asked what toppings he wanted.

The guy reportedly said:

“Oh, you know… just a plain, regular cheeseburger.”

So the employee thought, “Okay. Plain cheeseburger. No toppings.”

Makes sense, right?

They make the burger, hand it over… and eventually, the guy comes back MAD. 😭

He complains that they made his burger wrong because there was nothing on it.

The worker says:

“I thought you ordered a plain cheeseburger.”

And the customer apparently responds:

“I did. Do you not know what that means? Like a McDonald’s burger.”

🤨 SIR.

The worker explained that a “McDonald’s burger” isn’t exactly an industry-wide definition of what “plain” means… especially at Five Guys.

But they offered to remake it.

So they asked the guy AGAIN what toppings he wanted.

And this time, he said:

Ketchup, lettuce, and pickles.

So that’s what he got. 🍔

And here’s the funny part: according to McDonald’s website, a standard McDonald’s cheeseburger actually comes with ketchup, mustard, pickles, onions and cheese. No lettuce.

So even his McDonald’s defense wasn’t completely accurate. 😂

The employee said they apologized because that’s just customer service, but they were still “in awe” over the misunderstanding.

And apparently the internet agrees.

The post went viral, with tens of thousands of likes and thousands of comments from people who work in fast food saying they’ve dealt with similar situations.

The general consensus seems to be that a plain burger means a bun and a patty, with cheese if you ordered a cheeseburger.

And apparently, some people will even order a “cheeseburger without cheese.” 😭

Which honestly explains why fast-food workers have to ask approximately 47 follow-up questions every time somebody orders something.

“Can I get a hot coffee, black?”

“So no cream or sugar?”

“YES.”

“Okay, just making sure.”

Because apparently we can put a man on the moon, but we’re still struggling to make sure “plain” means plain. 🚀🍔
