As you may(or may not)know, Alex and Franky Venegas, known as Flyysoulja and Kodiyakredd respectively, and known collectively as the Island Boys, are twin brothers who became popular on TikTok in 2021. The brothers are based in Coral Springs, Florida, where they went viral with their song “I’m an Island Boy”. One half of the group, Franky Venegas, has been arrested in Naples, Florida for alleged gun and drug offenses
Franky was charged with possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, and delivering/possessing/selling a firearm with an altered serial number. According to the sheriff’s report, a deputy in an unmarked unit pulled over a yellow Corvette exiting a gas station in Naples after ignoring a stop sign.
The report says a “plastic baggy of pills” was found on the passenger side floorboard. A deputy identified them as suspected Oxycodone pills, seven in total, and five Acetaminophen pills. Venegas denied possession of the pills, but claimed to have a prescription for Oxycodone that he didn’t have with him.
Alex, AKA FlyySoulja, Franky’s twin brother and the other half of the Island Boys, told TMZ that he hasn’t lived with his twin in over a year. Alex says while they started in the same place, his path is drastically different from his brother’s, stating that his and Franky’s lifestyles don’t match up as much as they used to.
Despite the brothers not currently seeing eye to eye, Alex says he’ll always have his brother’s back. In the past he’s helped him cover lawyer fees but claims Franky’s always thrown it back in his face, telling him, “You’ve done nothing for me.” Alex says he feels they both have some growing up to do, and hopes they can find their way back to each other some day. But as of now, they’re barely seeing or speaking to each other.
Alex recently got engaged on Valentine’s Day to his baby mama, who he shares a young son with. He has a 4-year-old daughter from a previous relationship, and considers himself a family man these days. Island Boy to Island Man! Hopefully Franky can follow in his brother’s footsteps once getting out of jail.
