Americans go through around 100 million bottles of ranch every year, which adds up to about $1.7 billion in sales. Thatโs a lot of dipping happening across the country. ๐๐ฅ
The average person reportedly eats ranch about 15 times a year โ though if that number sounds way too low for youโฆ donโt be embarrassed. Wear it like a badge of honor.
๐งด Americaโs Ranch Obsession
A recent survey by YouGov asked Americans to rank their favorite condiments out of more than 20 options.
Hereโs how ranch stacked up:
- 30% say they LOVE ranch โค๏ธ
- 35% say they LIKE it ๐
- 18% somehow have no opinion ๐คท
- 7% dislike it
- 8% absolutely hate it
So overall, ranch clearly has a pretty loyal fan base.
In fact, 60% of people say they always keep ranch stocked at home, and 7% say itโs their favorite condiment โ even beating classics like ketchup or peanut butter.
Bold choice, but respectable.
๐ Some People Carry Ranch With Them
You know how in the song Formation, Beyoncรฉ famously says she carries hot sauce in her bag?
Wellโฆ some ranch lovers do the same thing.
According to the survey:
16% of people who carry condiments with them say they bring their own ranch.
Yes, really.
That means ranch packets or mini bottles might be hiding in:
๐ Purses๐ Backpacks๐ Car glove compartments๐ข Office drawers
Some people even keep their own labeled ranch bottle in the work fridge โ possibly with a padlock to keep coworkers from stealing it. (Understandable.)
โ๏ธ One Important Ranch Rule
If youโre carrying ranch around like itโs liquid gold, just remember one important thing:
Once itโs opened, it needs to be refrigerated.
So unless you plan on finishing the whole bottle in one sitting (whichโฆ no judgment), make sure it makes its way to a fridge sooner rather than later.
So on this National Ranch Day, the real question is:
What are you putting ranch on today?
Salad? Pizza? Fries? Chicken nuggets?
Or are you one of those people who would basically drink it if society allowed it? ๐ ๐ฅ
