When someone gives you the ick, it can be hard to get over, but behaviors and habits aren’t the only things that can be these major turn-offs. A Reddit thread that asks, “What profession would you never date?” is reminding us that people’s choice of career can also raise red flags.
People have some strong opinions about this one, with more than 6-thousand responses coming in so far. These are some of the best.
- “Social influencer. I don’t want to be the co-star in someone else’s life, much like I won’t want the same for another person in my life.”
- “Real estate agent. I hate salespeople, and I feel like they’re the ultimate salesperson”
- “Baker. They have an opposing sleep schedule to mine”
- “Drug dealer, organized crime or cartel.”
- “Teachers. I’ve dated a few and they were always sick. I’m not a germaphobe but I absolutely hate being sick.”
- “Pilot. My friend is a flight attendant. The amount of married pilots he’s slept with is insane”

- “Psychologist. Nobody needs a psychologist more than a psychologist does.”
