You know how people always say we should put our phones away at the dinner table?
Well… Prego has a solution that’s somehow even weirder 😂
They’ve created a new device called “The Conversation Keeper”—and its whole job is to record everything you say at dinner.
Yep. On purpose.
🎙️ What is it?
The Conversation Keeper is a small, puck-shaped device that looks kind of like the lid of a pasta sauce jar 🍅
Here’s how it works:
- You press a button on top
- It starts recording your dinner conversation
- It can store up to 8 hours of audio ⏱️
No screen. No fancy app. No Wi-Fi spying (supposedly) 👀
It just charges and transfers audio through a simple USB port.
🗣️ It also gives conversation prompts
As if recording dinner wasn’t enough…
The puck can also jump in with prompts to help “spark real conversations.”
So think stuff like:
- “How was school today?”
- “How was work?”
- “Why are you looking at me like that after tasting my pasta sauce?” 😂
🤔 But… WHY?
Fair question.
It’s actually part of a partnership with StoryCorps, a nonprofit that helps preserve conversations and stories from everyday Americans.
So the goal is more about creating memories—not secretly collecting data for ads.
(At least that’s what they’re saying 😅)
💸 How much?
The device will be sold on Prego’s website starting next Monday for just $20.
BUT…
They’re only making around 100 of them, so if this sounds like your dream gadget, you’ll have to move fast.
🍝 Final thought
Honestly, family dinner memories are great…
…but do we really need audio evidence of every awkward silence and argument over side dishes? 😂🎙️
