If youβve ever washed your car, stepped back to admire it, and immediately watched a bird drop a βgiftβ from above... youβre not alone. But apparently, some cars are just more tempting targets than others!
According to a new report, birds arenβt just dropping bombs at random β theyβre actually picky. π― The research found that brown cars get pooped on the most, followed by red and black. White and silver cars? They get off easy. ποΈ
Why? Experts say birds see ultraviolet light and have enhanced color vision, so darker, shinier surfaces stand out more β and might even look like other birds during mating season. So when they see their reflection, they attack... and, well, you get the idea. π¬
And when it comes to car brands, hereβs whoβs getting hit hardest:
#οΈβ£1οΈβ£ Ram
#οΈβ£2οΈβ£ Jeep
#οΈβ£3οΈβ£ Chevrolet
Then come Nissan, Dodge, Kia, Tesla, Audi, Ford, and Subaru.
Even worse β 24% of Americans say they spend over $500 a year on car washes and damage repairs from bird droppings alone! πΈ Tesla and BMW owners are spending the most trying to keep their rides clean.
So if you drive a dark-colored Ram and park under a tree... maybe just start budgeting for car washes now. π³πΏ
