The musical tells the beloved story of Maria and the von Trapp family, featuring iconic songs like “My Favorite Things,” “Do-Re-Mi,” “Climb Ev’ry Mountain,” “Edelweiss” and “The Sound of Music.”
The Jacksonville run will also feature the FSCJ Artist Series’ 22nd Annual Family Night on Broadway on Tuesday, January 26, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., before the evening’s 7:30 p.m. performance. The free experience is available to ticketholders and will include family-friendly activities in the lobby.
The touring production brings a fresh take on the Rodgers and Hammerstein classic, which is based on Maria Augusta Trapp’s book, The Trapp Family Singers. The story’s enduring themes of love, resilience and the power of music have captivated generations, while the 1965 Oscar-winning film remains one of the most successful movie musicals of all time.
