The Forest Lake Police Department shared a photo on Facebook and said that officers found 146 tires dumped along a stretch of road Dec. 6.

Police said the tires were on the road and they appeared to have been dumped by a moving vehicle as it drove down the road. “Not only is this extremely dangerous, but it’s illegal,” police said in the post.

Officers stayed at the scene until all the tires could be cleared from the road. An evidence technician for the Forest Lake Police Department said the tires took hours to remove, with a crew using a front loader to clear the tires from the road before returning in the morning to remove them from the area, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reported.

The department said in its post that its officers would “love to chat with the person/people responsible.”
